Happy St David's Day. Greetings to our friends in Wales. This is the first spring day and it's also the day for remembering one man who died on the first day of March many years ago. Who was St David? According to the legend, he was the son of a king and a nun. He was born (on the cliffs during a fierce storm) about the year 500. There's a chapel there now. And he died in 589 - supposedly 100 years old. He became a monk when he was a young man, and an archbishop when he was older. He founded a monastery with austere rules. Did his monks try to poison him? Perhaps he ate too many leeks. He survived! I will tell you more tomorrow.
