Here's a bridleway in Cocks (home of the Cook family long ago). It's broad enough for the cars of several house owners. There's a right of way for the public on foot, bicycle or horse, through to another road, but there is no through road for cars. Opposite the bridleway is a footpath. The "no horses" sign has gone (the paint has weathered away). This footpath is deceptive. There's enough room for a horse, isn't there? But, look! Before long we encounter a locked gate and a stile. Only pedestrians can proceed beside the abandoned railway. Here's another little footpath near the church, going to the spring field. In the past the spring provided water for the church, but now the path is not a public right of way. (And there's a new water pipe for the church.) Can you find all the footpaths. This is a brand new sign to help you.
