What is the day today? It's April Fools' Day. The first day of the month of April is always April Fools' Day. But this year it is, also, Maundy Thursday, the day before Good Friday. Did anyone try to play a trick on you this morning? My husband tried, but I was not deceived! The weather today was very lovely and the hedges and gardens are full of spring flowers. There are plenty of yellow flowers - celandines (stars of the spring or eye plants), daffodils (Lenten lilies), primroses. And, of course, there is always gorse. Do you prefer mauve flowers? There are lots of violets. But they are not sweet violets, so there is no scent. There's an appearance of snow on some trees - the blackthorn is in blossom. I walked twice today - once to take a photo for tomorrow and again to meet my granddaughter's bus. The sheep was curious to see me again.
